Exceptional wine begins with premier grapes farmed by experts.

Apogia is privileged to have developed relationships with the top vineyard management teams and growers in Napa Valley.

Each season Apogia focuses our efforts on producing two outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon wines: "The Hill" and "The Vale".

Apogia’s "The Hill" fruit is sourced from some of the most prestigious mountain vineyards.

  • Pritchard Hill terrain – The geography of the Pritchard Hill terrain is known for producing full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon wines with excellent aging potential. This high-elevation land on the eastern hillside of Napa Valley has excellent rocky volcanic soils, steep slopes and intense sun exposure. Wines from this terroir are full-bodied with fine-grained tannins which provide structure without heaviness.
  • Stagecoach Vineyard - Today, with over 600 acres planted to vines, Cabernet Sauvignon focused, Stagecoach is the largest contiguous vineyard in the Napa Valley. The 1,300+ acres of rocky, volcanic terroir extends from the southeastern Pritchard Hill area overlooking Oakville and Yountville to the westernmost regions of the Atlas Peak appellation. Apogia’s rugged south-west facing block, high above the fog line, enjoys cool overnight temperatures, while the warm afternoon sun allows the grapes to gently ripen resulting in a wine with amazing color, texture, tannins, and complexity.

Apogia’s "The Vale" fruit is sourced from valley floor fruit that demonstrates softer, rounder tannins that produce polished approachable wines.

  • Larkmead Vineyards, Calistoga - Apogia's valley floor grapes are sourced from the reserve blocks of Larkmead Vineyards in Calistoga. This family run farm dates back to 1895 and continues to be one of Napa’s preeminent vineyards. The vineyard is characterized by a diversity of alluvial soils. Cool mornings and thin layers of fog protect and hydrate the vines as they prepare for the hot afternoon temperatures, which are among the warmest in the valley. This creates an ideal environment for viticultural excellence.
